Finally, the person decides to see another doctor. This second doctor looks at the history of the first doctor and sees that the patient had never received any alternative therapies. So, the second doctor prescribes something else, like acupuncture, herbs, or even dietary changes. At this point, the patient feels better. But, he/she still take the same medications that were prescribed by the first doctor. Eventually, the patient experiences side effects from the drugs and his/her body becomes weaker. Now, the patient needs to take even stronger medications. Soon, the patient ends up in the hospital. This is where the patient receives intensive care. His/her life hangs in the balance. In fact, the patient might die. If the patient survives, he/she is left with permanent damage to his/her organs.
This example illustrates how important it is to integrate different forms of therapy into one program. For instance, a person could start out receiving acupuncture treatments once a week, followed by nutritional supplements, and then move on to a combination of both. By doing this, the patient will experience fewer side effects and will recover faster.
