Herbal Remedies For Anxiety

Herbal Remedies For Anxiety

October 30, 2022 By Peter Leave a Comment

If you're suffering from anxiety, you should know that herbal remedies can provide you with relief from your symptoms. They're just as effective as pharmaceuticals but have fewer side effects. In this article, we'll talk about Valerian, Catnip, and Banxia houpu decoction.

Catnip

Cats are especially vulnerable to anxiety and stress, so if you've noticed your feline friend is showing symptoms of nervousness, consider using an herbal remedy for anxiety. Lavender flower essence is a natural sedative and can be used to calm your kitty.

Valerian

Valerian is an herbal remedy used to relieve anxiety. It comes from the root of a plant native to Asia and Europe, and has sedative effects. It is believed to have been used for thousands of years to treat sleep problems and anxiety. Several studies have found that valerian can be effective in treating anxiety, especially when taken at least 30 minutes before bed.

Chamomile

Chamomile is an herbal treatment that can help ease symptoms of anxiety. The flower of the chamomile plant contains apigenin, a substance that can be beneficial for individuals with anxiety and depression. According to a study published in 1996, chamomile reduces anxiety by a significant amount in mice. However, it should be noted that there are a few safety concerns associated with chamomile and any herbal treatment should be used with caution.

Banxia houpu decoction

The modified Banxia Houpu decoction has been found to have a therapeutic effect on depression and anxiety. It is particularly effective on the throat and psychological state. However, the study does not identify the exact mechanism of the herbal remedy.

St. John's wort

While St. John's wort is used to treat depression and general anxiety, there has not been any significant research on its use for social anxiety disorder. One study found that participants did not report any improvement in anxiety symptoms after taking the herb. This means that it is unlikely to be effective for SAD.

Lavender

Lavender is known to have many benefits for anxiety and is widely used to soothe the ill effects of stress. It helps in calming the nervous system and is a popular herbal remedy for insomnia. Its relaxing properties have been used for thousands of years. It belongs to the family Lamiaceae and is closely related to mint and sage. There are many varieties of lavender, each with slightly different chemical properties.
